Healthcare Operations Consulting for Independent Practices

Clinical Excellence deserves flawless operations.

As a healthcare operations consultant, Scott Dickinson helps independent and small-group practices optimize the business behind the medicine — tightening revenue, sharpening staffing, strengthening compliance, and negotiating smarter vendor terms to drive peak operational efficiency and maximize profitability.

Request a conversation   Four ways to engage

Most practices do not need a new strategy. They need someone running the operation.

Our primary focus is to help independent and small group healthcare practices fix the operational and financial breakdowns that quietly evade patient care and profitability.

Collections drift down a few points a quarter. A credentialing lapse holds up a new provider for ninety days. Nobody owns the denial queue. The billing vendor has not been renegotiated in six years. Individually none of it looks urgent — together it is the margin.

With over 20 years of proven expertise across practice operations and administrative support inside multi-specialty hospitals and independent private practices — we provide you customizable, project-based consulting solutions at the level of engagement that transforms your business model.

  • $100M+ largest practice operations budget governed at numerous Boston Area Hospitals
  • 250+ FTEs overseen as Director of Operations at major Boston Area Hospital
  • $3.4M+ new Urology revenue generated through a Prostate Fusion Biopsy service line

Engagements

Operational Solutions we offer

Four scoped ways to engage, each with a clear cadence, deliverables, and pricing. Explore the engagement that fits where your practice is today.

Not sure which fits? Send a brief note and we will help you scope the right starting point.

How it starts

Scoped, measured, and handed back to you

Every engagement is clearly defined before we begin: cadence, deliverables, and the metrics that define success. Our ultimate goal is a practice that runs well without an outside consultant.

  1. Intro call — 60 minute phone call. Practice introduction and historical intake review to assess parameters for collaborative approach.
  2. Scoped proposal — A written scope with cadence, deliverables, and fixed or retained pricing. No open-ended hours.
  3. First 30 days — Baseline metrics, quick corrections, and a documented operating plan ownership can read in ten minutes.
  4. Operating rhythm — Recurring on-site or remote presence, monthly scorecard, and a standing line to ownership.
